k got a asus eeepc laptop it says it is 9.5V on the back, but I can find many solar chargers, I saw one that is 5v if i have the right connection for it, would the power still help my battery last longer?

Here is what I have going on in my mind. I have a cabin in the woods that my friends and I stay at. It has no running water or electricity. I Have a large supply of LED’s that I just bought. The specs that I have received on them are as followed.((( Emitted Colour : White, Size: 5mm, Lens Color : Water Clear, Forward Voltage (V) : 3.2-3.4V, Current: 20MA, Luminous Intensity: 1300~1500mcd. What I am trying to figure out is how many LED’s i can use to run off of a 12 Volt car batt aprox 500 cranking amps. I need the light to run for about 8 hours before needing recharged. I have a Solar 12V charger to charge it during the day. The light will be used at night so it will have to run completely off of the battery. Also i would like the Formula that you used so that I can figure out more lights on my own. Thanks For the help,ya’ll.
A house with a south-facing roof has photovoltaic panels on the roof. The photovoltaic panels have an efficiency of 10.3 % and occupy an area with dimensions 3.35 m by 8.55 m. The average solar radiation incident on the panels is 305 W/m2, averaged over all conditions for a year. How many kilowatt hours of electricity will the solar panels generate in 20 days?
I’m building a solar setup to mount on my bike so I can keep my phone/laptop charged while on long rides. I’d like to know if I’ve got my facts straight. It’s been a long time since high school science class.
I’ve got 8 rechargeable AAs (I don’t need to store that much power. I will almost always be riding in the sun.). My solar panel has a built-in charge controller that puts out 12v. I’ll connect the AAs in series. 8 AAs x 1.5v = 12v, so the solar panel’s 12 volts should charge them properly, am I correct?
Thanks a lot
I reside in a region with average sunlight. Also if I am running a 2.5W inverter at full capacity, how many batteries would I need to run for 10hours.
I have a 6V 1.3Ah battery in a solar charger that i recently got. I was wondering if i could get a new battery with the same voltage but higher amps so it could hold more power. I’m battery stupid so I just wanted to make sure that i could do this without frying the charger.
Thanks for your time!
I’m making a solar trickle charger for a power pack of four AA batteries. I’ve got a 6v 250ma solar panel with a 5v voltage regulator,a rectifier diode to prevent back power to the panel and I’d like to add a charged LED to the circuit.
I’ve found this article to make a basic 12v http://www.reuk.co.uk/Make-a-Simple-Battery-Status-Monitor.htm
But cannot for the life of me understand the circuit design. I’m not sure what zener diode I should have or resistor. I just want an LED to light up when the power gets at or about 4.8v.
there really 12 amps available? A 9v battery cannot produce 9amps thru 1 ohm, right? thx
Thank you both – billruss… you gave me the missing piece "internal resistance". Lamduh the angle of sunlight indeed would be a factor
in getting the most out of the sun energy – awesome tip.
What are the drawbacks to using wind turbines or solar panels for providing all power to a home?
A. The wind and sun are not constant, so there would be times when no electricity would be generated.
B. The wind and sun are constant, so there would be plenty of electricity for the home.
C. Wind and solar power are inefficient and too expensive to use and maintain.
D. Wind and solar power are efficient, but they are not able to produce enough electricity for a single home.
Does a Tektrum 40 watt Solar Panel/Blocking Diode Cable/2m long Cable and Clamps Battery Charger Kit, Is this solar panel fitted with a battery protection circuit to prevent overcharging of batteries?
Or is it recommended to have a Solar Power Charge Controller. if so which one is best to use?
