how long does it take to charge a 12v battery on solar charger?

Filed under :12v Solar Battery Charger

Hi i am curious to know how and how long can i charge a 12 v batter on solar charger, and what is the voltage, amperage and power needed from solar cells to charge this battery as soon as it can.
      thanx
      adding some other details,
lets say i have a 12v and 60AH deep cycle battery, what is the solar battery charger i should buy so that i use it over night and charge it next day without harming the battery. i have seen some solar charger on ebay but they don’t seem so convenient to me (12v 1.5w charger).
thank you and i appreciate your help!

12V Solar panel: how do I drop the voltage to 6V without just wasting the power?

I an buy a 12V solar panel, but I want 6V (which I will then limit to 5.2V using a zener diode). How do I drop the voltage to 6V, without just using a resistor? The resistor just uses up power – making the solar cells less effective. It would be better if I could somehow use the extra voltage to boost the current (the power output would be the same).
Thanks! I looked up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/78xx – this seems to be the best solution — but there is no way to change the extra voltage into current (aside from an AC transformer).

Using low-end, i.e. cheap, solar panels, based on existing technology, how much energy can be generated by adding solar panels to the total length of the Alaskan Pipeline? And if possible, how does that compare with the energy of the oil being pumped through the pipe. Not sure what the light cycle is along the pipe.

What is the most cost-effective place to buy large solar electric panels?

We don’t have enough money right now to buy capacity for the whole house, which would probably require about 12 kilowatts. However, I would like to start buying panels toward building up toward that.

But I want to buy the most solar panel for the least price. I think that piecing a lot of very small panels together will be a very expensive way to do it.

Does anyone know the least expensive way to buy large solar electric panels?

What's the best cheap solar charger?

I am thinking of buying a solar charger to charge stuff like a phone, iPod, camera and Laptop. I want one that will charge things within a few hours but not too expensive and preferably charge things well on ordinary days rather than just in really sunny conditions.
I don’t know much about them, would they work under a lamp in a hotel or do they use UV. Any useful information would be greatly appreciated! :)
